Community Chest

 Ravensthorpe CRC is thrilled to support the Community Chest!

The Community Chest is a fund which enables all community members to fully participate in local activities and education. Eligible community members include anyone who holds a Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card that is a resident of Ravensthorpe (proof of residency showing 6346 postcode).

Individuals or businesses can make tax-deductible donations. Donated funds are allocated to a variety of local events, activities and items. All funds will flow to local businesses and organisations.

Residents who are not concession card holders but can demonstrate hardship through an easy application (eligibility due to hardship form) that is assessed by our Community Chest sub-committee may also be eligible.

Current nominated activities

Rave About Arts - All Ravensthorpe Arts Council events are eligible for 50% deduction to eligible community members.
Ravensthorpe District High School - Booklists from Meridian Agencies and primary school uniforms for children from within eligible homes.
Hopetoun Summer Festival - all Summer Fest activities are 50% deductible to eligible individuals.
Ravensthorpe CRC - Eligible community members can can receive a 50% subsidy on all RCRC events.

Utility Support Payments - Gas (bottled from Ravensthorpe Agencies), Electricity - Synergy or Water Corporation only; up to the value of $125. A limit of 2 utility support payments apply per year, per concession card (not per person listed on the card). A cost of $44 will be charged to you as co-payment at the time of collecting your voucher.

Food vouchers - 1 x $20 voucher per person listed on the Health Care OR Pensioner Concession card* (e.g. family of 5 can have 5 x $20 vouchers)

*Limit of 4 vouchers per year, per person.

How to use it

Health Care Card OR Pensioner Concession Card holders can purchase tickets through the Ravensthorpe (or Hopetoun) CRC to local events, school booklists, events and excursions, sporting club memberships, utility support payments and food vouchers, or other supported activities.

  1. Come into the Ravensthorpe or Hopetoun CRC (depending on your residential postcode)

  2. Let us know what you are seeking

    • Local event tickets

    • School booklists, events, or excursions

    • Sporting club memberships

    • Utility support payments*

    • Food vouchers**

  3. We will book and pay for you

  4. You will pay us 50% of the original amount by cash or EFT

    *A cost of $44 will be charged to you as co-payment at the time of collecting your voucher.

    ** 1 x $20 voucher per person listed on the Health Care OR Pensioner Concession card (eg. family of 5 can have 5 x $20 vouchers). Limit of 4 vouchers per year, per person.

How to donate

Containers for Change is a fundraising system that allows you to donate money earnt from container collection.

To donate, use the Ravensthorpe Community Chest scheme ID: C10378828 at the refund point when returning your eligible containers.

The money earnt from recycling really adds up and by donating it to our Community Chest you can be helping not only support local groups and businesses but also the members of the community that are disadvantaged.

Make a tax-deducible donation here. On the form, please be sure to tick “General support for a specific Neighbourhood House, Centre, State peak body or network. Please specify the name of the organisation, and program if applicable” and nominate Ravensthorpe Community Resource Centre.
